Julianne Ruth is a Portland actress, model, and musician who loves life and cares deeply for environmental rights. She is a nature photographer, licensed massage therapist, web designer, and alto saxophonist.

Raised near Amarillo, she grew up in small towns riding horses and raising pigs. A film crew passed through one day, and at age 10, she found herself playing a small role in Oscar nominated film ‘Spellbound’. Since then, that’s exactly what she has been: spellbound by the lights, camera, and action. She performed endlessly whether on stage acting in a play, or playing saxophone in a band.

Discovered by a Texas talent agency in high school, she immediately began working in front of the camera traveling to Los Angeles for film and runway coaching. She broke her school’s record in competitive acting as well as becoming an All State Musician. Senior year, she was the president of the International Thespians Society and Drum Major of the school band. She marched the entire lot of them 200 deep, down Disneyland Street in 2003.

She studied at Texas Tech on scholarship for Theatre Arts while performing in black box dramas, and main stage musical productions such as West Side Story. She also played in the college Jazz band.

Julianne then moved to Austin, TX to study massage therapy and naturopathic medicine. She was the founder and CEO of East 2 West Wellness Clinic at age 22, successfully treating patients for over 6 years.

She has worked as a model for Paul Mitchell, KMS California, and Goldwell. She has also performed in music videos, runway shows, and short films, and was a professional sculpture model for five years. She has been a live portrait model performing for the gaming graphic design panel at SXSW Interactive, posing for paintings at countless live art events, and having her image at prestigious art exhibits as well as winning Photo of the Day on Model Mayhem.

With her love for growing food, she began three community gardens at apartment complexes throughout the city, and has offered free organic gardening lessons to all who will listen since 2009.

In 2014 she survived a traumatic brain injury and changed career paths the following year to coaching models through BeSomebody Inc. She was hired by New York City agency Mustard Lane in 2015 to manage brand ambassador modeling teams for SXSW and Austin City Limits promotional events. She returned to college on a full ride scholarship for women in tech with disabilities and majored in computer science specializing in web development. Her favorite classes were by far the design courses which taught the Adobe Creative Suite.

Drawn to the outdoors, she now lives in Portland pursuing her passion for fashion, film, and sustainable energy. Having had so much fun as a runway model during Portland Fashion Week 2017, she feels so blessed to have found such a fabulous group of people to focus all of her talents towards.

In her free time, she gardens in the front yard, goes to yoga with her friends, volunteers massage for Alzheimer's patients at St. Anthony Village, and spends time with her fiancé and their adorable kitty cats.
