Meet the Fall 2014 PFW Style Collective:
Justin Matthews of PHASHIN’ JUNKY
“From the moment I put on my mothers 80’s gold printed bomber jacket, I knew I would end up in the world of fashion.” Phashin’ Junky is a Fashion stylist & emerging Fashion blogger from San Francisco who is taking over Portland with his one-of-a-kind vision and style. With mixing both vintage and up to date fashion trends, not caring what garment is male or female, he has created a amazing style for himself, and wants nothing more but for the world to see it. As the Creative Director of www.phashinjunky.com, Justin connects to his readers through his out of this world fashion trends & tips. From going to school for fashion merchandising & image consulting to fashion styling, to now Fashion blogging, Justin has dabbled in all things fashion, and he’s here to stay.
“I’m a twenty-two year old fashion lover straight from New York City. Being about five months new to the Portland area, I quickly came to find out that this town was going to be a little different than what I was used to . I enjoy all things that are out of trend and unique, as well as really learning to embrace and blog about inner-beauty. Fashion has always been more to me than just what meets the eye.”
Lauren is a wardrobe stylist, blogger and mom, proving that motherhood can still be stylish. She writes about pretty things, funny things and a million other little things at The Little Things We Do
Born in Astoria, Oregon and having graduated from Portland State University, Ari Stevens started the Aireeland blog in the Spring of 2009. Aireeland has been dedicated to covering everything fabulous in the realms of fashion, music and whatever else Stevens deems to be beautiful and interesting ever since. In 2013 Stevens was voted the People’s Choice Nominee for Aireeland at The Portland Fashion & Style Awards.
Kelsey is a Portland style blogger at the blog Ladies in Navy, inspired by classic styles, budget-friendly fashion, and the Pacific Northwest.
Erika Ellis is a creative connoisseur in Portland, Oregon. Erika is a classically trained musician turned model. Having taken a hiatus from college to move to Los Angeles, Erika was a spokesmodel for various brands like Converse and Verizon. She was even granted the opportunity to flex her acting chops with a brief stint on MTV. Erika later transitioned to makeup artistry where she traveled the west coast region for CHANEL and Kevyn Aucoin. These days, Erika is thinking long-term. She is currently in her third year as a communication studies + advertising student at Portland State University. She juggles her studies with her job as a content curator for Ace Hotel and being a proud soccer mom. Upon graduation, her dream job is to work for Weiden + Kennedy in London as a creative director.
“While her blog exudes optimism, it’s not fluff. The attention to detail that seems to serve her so well in her work comes through in her personal style, which she described as a mix of understated and envelope pushing. Talking to Lavenda, you get a sense that her approach to just about everything in life is a healthy balance between fun and fierce intention.” – PDXX Collective
